American Idol (Results Show - Final 12)

Okay, we'll keep this one short-ish. Here are the main talking points from tonight's American Idol 5 Results Show...
32.5 million votes cast. This is less than last week, but still impressive as last week there were 2 lots of voting and four more contestants to choose from!
The Ford-ommercial - Our Idols are camping, singing "All I Want Download 'All I Want' at iTunes Check out 'All I Want' at Amazon.com" by Toad The Wet Sprocket Download 'Toad The Wet Sprocket' tracks at iTunes Check out 'Toad The Wet Sprocket' at Amazon.com. Katharine McPhee makes a fetching park ranger, Ace Young is a fetching Bigfoot. Okay, I know what they say about men with big feet, but what do they say if you are one?
Ace Young - "He's thinking about all of you America"!
After the break Stevie Wonder Download 'Stevie Wonder' tracks at iTunes Check out 'Stevie Wonder' at Amazon.com graced the house with a 'Wonder'-ful rendition of " My Love Is On Fire Download 'My Love Is On Fire' at iTunes Check out 'My Love Is On Fire' at Amazon.com ".
Tonight's first shock. We are told that either Ace Young or Kevin Covais are in the bottom 3 and it's not Kevin!
Melissa McGhee is next to be sectioned into the bottom 3. This is less of a shock because last week Melissa was the last to make it into the final 12. (Okay, we don't know for sure if this means that she had the 6th place girl vote, but that's how most of us are thinking!)
Bucky Covington of course was the 6th guy to make the final 12 and he and Lisa Tucker are told that one of them are also in this week's bottom 3. The 2nd shock of tonight is when Ryan announces that Bucky is safe and Lisa is not. Lisa's performance of "Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours Download 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours' at iTunes Check out 'Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours' at Amazon.com " was one of yesterday's highlight performances. Simon said of it, "for the first time I saw someone take control of this stage."
Ace soon walks his big feet back to the rack of safe seats, it's between Melissa and Lisa. No more surprises, Lisa is safe, Melissa walks.
Melissa McGhee gets Paula Abdul's vote but mixed comments from Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson.
She isn't given much time to reflect on her Idol experience as time is running out for the half-hour show. Melissa reprises "Lately" and the show closes out before she even gets to finish.
Although it didn't hurt Bo Bice any, it is often the case that the finalists who don't get featured on the show during the early audition stages and Hollywood Week are the first to go. Over the last few weeks we've been warming to Melissa's talent and personality. Unfortunately for Melissa, just when she needed to step her game up she faltered by blotting her lyric-book. In spite of this Simon Cowell told her that "Lately Download 'Lately' at iTunes Check out 'Lately' at Amazon.com" was her best performance. However Simon's positive words didn't sink into the nation's psyche.
Bye, bye... we'll Miss-ya Melissa!
