I Don't Mean to Be Rude, But...: Backstage Gossip from American Idol & the Secrets that Can Make You a Star

Bo Bice (Personal Contestant's - American Idol 4, Final 3)

Bo Bice
Song: In A Dream  Check out 'In A Dream' at Amazon.com (Badlands  Check out 'Badlands' at Amazon.com)

Bo delivers a wonderfully intense a cappella rendition of Badlands' 'In A Dream' for his contestant song on Idol tonight.
Bo treads boldly where no Idol contestant has gone before. Not only is his song choice (a little known Badlands number) potentially risky, but he's decided to sing it a cappella!
He is jaw droppingly captivating. The spotlighting of the dimmed studio complements the haunting intensity of his vocal. It's like watching Bo stripped of everything but his soul.
Hair everywhere is standing on end... apart from on Bo's head of course, because that would just look silly!
Whether it's 'Bo the Brave', or 'Bo the Idol Warrior', he's just made two Idol worriers out of Vonzell and Carrie!
Brilliant!

Panel-Bites:

Ryan Seacrest:  Up next, this is a first for our live show. A very bold move for Bo. He's chosen to sing without the band. With 'In A Dream' by Badlands. Here is Bo Bice.

Bo sings...

Clive Davis:  Bo, you took... you took a real risk here. And it was indeed bold and very courageous of you, but you pulled it off. Bo, you're getting stronger each and every week, and I'm going to make a prediction that we are going to have a great time making a very special album together.

Bo:  (Smiles and nods)

Randy Jackson:  All right, so, yo, man, check it out dawg. You know what I love about that? It's the way you auditioned for the show. And the public probably forgets, everyone comes and sings A Cappella. There's no band, there's no stage, there's none of this. You come in the room and face us. I love it that you returned to this. You were as good now as you were then. Bo, you are the bomb. That was courageous and it was unbelievable, dude. Great... great!

Paula Abdul:  Bo, you truly are a gift and what people don't know what we do know, you are a gift on the inside too. You are a wonderful soul. And the rest of the world's going to get to experience that.

Bo:  Thank you, Paula.

Paula Abdul:  I'm very excited for you.

Bo:  (Smiling) Thank you.

Simon Cowell:  (Smiles) You may have just put 34 musicians out of work. (Laughter)

Ryan Seacrest:  Bo Bice. Come on over, man. Fired up?

Bo:  Yeah. I'm ready to rock.
