Bo Bice gives an emotional and heartfelt rendition of Elton John's 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me'
Interestingly Clive Davis has chosen an Elton John ballad for Bo's first number tonight.
Bo's wearing his sun-glasses again, and carrying his mike-stand around at the same familiar angle, pacing a little as he sings out a vocal which is passionate and heartfelt.
Technically it's not a flawless vocal, but that's not what this number is about. He carries the audience along with the emotion of the performance, and they are absolutely loving it.

Panel-Bites:

Ryan Seacrest:  (Pointing) Big-wig record boss Clive Davis... choosing the songs right now. (To Clive) So, what did you pick sir, for Bo?

Clive Davis:  Well, when I was considering a song for Bo, I thought of the great standard that Elton John and Bernie Taupin wrote 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me'.

Ryan Seacrest:  Great song. Here he is, Bo Bice, America.

Bo sings...

Clive Davis:  Bo...Bo... Bo, you really captured the song. It was heart-felt, it was powerful, it was passionate. You made Elton John and Bernie Taupin real proud tonight. (Applause)

Bo:  Thank you, Mr. Davis.

Clive Davis:  Bo Bice!

Randy Jackson:  So man you know what? Tonight you forever in the dawg pound. That was hot. (Applause) I didn't even think ...I was... I was a little questioning the song, man. I was like... ah, can Bo do this? Now, you can do anything dude. You know you're on your way baby.

Bo:  (Barks!)

Paula Abdul:  Wasn't he? ... He was in the dog pound last week.

Randy Jackson:  Yeah, but now he's forever in, Paula.

Paula Abdul:  Oh, okay.

Randy Jackson:  Lifetime member... Lifetime baby!

Paula Abdul:  Okay, got it. (To Bo) Pure brilliance... magnificent!

Bo:  Thank you, Paula. Thank you.

Simon Cowell:  Great, really great. And er, I... I, much, much prefer you doing these kind of songs, than the kind of the rock thing. (To Paula who is laughing) Ahm... I did... I do. (To Bo) I think you come in this week as favorite to go through, and after that I think we're going to see you next week. Really, really good. (Applause)

Ryan Seacrest:  Bo Bice, congrats...
