Leiber & Stoller / Current Billboard Hits - American Idol 4, Final 5
Hooray! It's double helpings of our favorite five Idols tonight. Our first course is served with lashings of Leiber and Stoller. To follow we'll have sweet Billboard surprise!
In other words, each Idol will sing twice tonight. First they'll sing a number from Leiber and Stoller's vast collection, and later they will sing a song they have chosen from any of the current week's Billboard charts.
Ryan Seacrest reminds us that Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller are two of Rock And Roll's founding fathers. A little video homage pays tribute to their 50 years of songwriting. They wrote 2 dozen Elvis songs, including classics 'Jailhouse Rock' and 'Hound Dog'. Other hits include Kansas City and Yakety-Yak, and there are more... some of which the Idols are about to try out.
The Billboard charts theme for the second half of the show is yet another 'wide open' theme which gives the Idols plenty of scope to shine tonight, or perhaps enough rope to choke on!
So? How do they do tonight? 'Not too shabby' as a matter of fact! We rank our top 3 as Carrie, Vonzell and Bo, in that order...
- Vonzell 'treats us nice', twice. Randy tells her that he loves her... voice.

- Bo's 'Stand By Me' stands out. When he sings 'Heaven' Bo's stand stands out!

- Anthony's fine vocal on his second number 'Incomplete' is in complete contrast to his 'Poison Ivy' goof.

- Scott lights up 'On Broadway' but by Brian McKnight time the lights are out.
