Anthony: I grew up in a small town outside of Philadelphia, it's called 'Trevose'. Originally, I'm from Ukraine. The first time I sang, my dad went and grabbed a recorder and recorded me singing. (Sound of baby Anthony singing)
Vladimir (Anthony's Dad): He's about... one and a half years old there. First attempts to sing. (Laughing as he listens) He start singing about love long, long time ago! (Vladimir sheds a tear)
Natalia (Anthony's Mom): He's our dream... he's our dream. His dream, our dream...and I can't believe our dream came true.
Anthony: I just always had this one perspective in my head, to be a singer. I didn't pay attention much at school. Sitting in English class or a history class, thinking, "Okay, well maybe one day I'll actually be on a big stage singing my heart out. You know, that's all I could think about really."
Vladimir: So proud of my son. He is... he is not just a dreamer. He's a dream maker. Anthony: I think they think it's a miracle and you know, miracles happen for the right reasons.
Panel-Bites:
Anthony sings...
Randy Jackson: Anthony. All right. So, yo dawg! You know what? Ahm, it started off a little rough for me, but you know by the time you hit the chorus, I mean, you were really good with the high notes. I... I still say it's the low notes that need some work. But the high notes, dude, you brought... you brought it home, man.
Anthony: Thanks. Thanks Randy.
Randy Jackson: It was good.
Paula Abdul: Once again, the last point of reference, I think, was when Kelly Clarkson sang the song in season one. So I was a little, "Wow, you're going to take on a Celine Dion song!". But I think it was the first performance that... there was a beginning, middle, and end, and you really grew, and your vocals grew, and they built with the song. And I think it's one of your best performances. (Cheers)
Simon Cowell: You're a very brave man. (Some laughter) Really brave man. Uhm, I personally hated it, but however...(Audience groans) ...(To Audience) ...no...there's good news to come! (To Anthony) The whole... the whole point about being a successful artist is...is...is to sing the kind of songs which are going to appeal to the people who like you, who vote for you. And that is exactly what you did with that song. I think you nailed it. (Cheers)
Ryan Seacrest: Anthony Fedorov, 'I Surrender', Celine Dion. Nice one, brother. Tough song to sing too. Now, you guys got to choose between 2000... 2005. You've been wanting to sing that song by Celine for weeks. Why?
Anthony: You know, the song just does something to me. I mean, it just touches a place in my heart that not too many songs do. You know and I was just, I was so excited that I finally had a chance to sing it, and you know, I just gave it all.
Ryan Seacrest: Well, congratulations. I think it worked, bud. Nice one. If you want to vote for Fedorov... (Ryan gives out the phone number) ...He's been hitting the gym two times a day, by the way. Check out those arms. (Ryan prods Anthony's arm, then repeats the number)
Anthony: Thanks for embarrassing me.
Ryan Seacrest: (As an aside to Anthony) I didn't embarrass you, buddy. The chicks love that.
