The Maynard triplets harmonise well together. Ryan Seacrest describes them as a 'three-way threat', but that doesn't stop Simon from telling them "You look like 3 overweight Jessica Simpsons." "We'll lose weight, we promise" plead the chirpy sisters. Actually they aren't that much overweight, but there's another problem, this is 'American Idol' not 'American Triplet Idol' or 'Group Idol'. Mandy and Melissa are asked to leave Erin (who the girls agree is the better of the 3) in the room with the judges. |
And after all that fuss, they decide Erin isn't good enough to go through anyway! From the broadcast footage it doesn't seem that she was asked to even sing again.... so what was all that about? Later the girls seem more upset about Simon's weight jibe than about not making the cut! |  |
